Reserve today, settle the balance on session day or by invoice. We’ll reply from the studio email with a date, the route from Missoula, and a lane note within two business days.

Family, couple, engagement, or individual — pick the one that fits. The pasture is the same either way; the time of day and the people in the frame decide the day.
Step 02
Your $75 reserve deposit is credited toward whichever package you choose. No second bill until we wrap; we send a clean invoice before the balance is due.

We reply from the studio email within two business days with a date, the route from Missoula, and a lane note. Foothill weather can move a date — we rebook at no charge.
What to expect on the farm
A working cattle farm, not a manicured studio. The pictures come out like this place does — same ground the herd walks on, same weather we didn’t dress up.

The cattle, the dogs, the fences, the pasture you walk on for the shoot. Everything you step around or duck under belongs to a herd first.

Curious, calm, well-handled — but they are a working herd. We move with their day, and never pressure them into a frame.

Under-guardian supervision for the whole session. The pasture is uneven, the herd is real, and a hand to hold keeps the day easy for everyone.

Tell us when you inquire; dogs stay controlled and on the far side of the fence by default. Pasture dogs and house dogs meet on our terms, not theirs.

Foothill storms or blowing snow can move a date. We rebook at no charge — your deposit stays valid for the next clear afternoon.

Our farm · Our story
Moolady is a small Highland-cattle operation on the foothills west of Clinton, Montana. We’ve been raising the herd for almost ten years, and photographing the families and friends who come out for a session since the year after we built the barn. The cattle, the dogs, the fences, the long shadows at six in the evening — that’s what shows up in your pictures.
We don’t pose you. We walk the pasture with you, give the herd time to decide whether you belong, and shoot through the hour when the air goes gold. Whether you’re looking for a family photographer who’ll work a long-table multigenerational group, or an engagement photographer who’ll quietly capture the proposal moment, you’ll go home with prints that look like this place because they were taken here, with patience, in weather we didn’t dress up.

Sessions start at ninety minutes and finish when the light does. Pricing depends on travel, animals involved, and how many rounds you’d like. Reach out for a quote — we’re happy to talk through the right fit before you commit.

Grandparents, parents, kids, and the dog. Two hours on the pasture so nobody is rushed — we’ll wander, we’ll wait for the right light, we’ll come back to the house for cider and a second round if the light keeps.

We plan every session around two things: when you’re free, and when the light is honest. Mornings are calm and the cattle are closer to the barn. Golden hour brings the long shadows that make the pasture feel deeper than it is. We’ll talk through both in the inquiry reply.

What to expect
Four plain-spoken panels — the prep before you arrive, the moment we pull in and meet the herd, the way the light window plays out, and what happens once you’re home with the gallery link.
Boots you don't mind getting dusty, layers against a foothill evening, and a pocket of treats if you're bringing a dog — that's the whole packing list. We send a driving note the afternoon before with the lane address and a rough sense of where to park; the gate is uneven pasture, not a sidewalk, so closed-toe footwear helps. If the weather has been wet, the ground will be soft. That's part of the day, not a problem to dress around.
