01 — Family

Multi-generational family sessions

Grandparents, parents, kids — if you use a service animal, please contact us before your session so we can plan a safe and appropriate accommodation around the working cattle. Personal pets are not permitted on the pasture. Two hours so nobody is rushed — we’ll wander, wait for the right light, and shoot another round if the light keeps.

The farm is open by appointment year-round — winter availability is weather-dependent — with three Montana seasons at the centre, each with its own light, its own herd rhythm, and the kind of window that suits a different kind of session.

March – May

Spring on the paddock

Calf season, soft greens, overcast-friendly.

Spring is calf season at the farm — the new arrivals stand close to their mums on the soft new grass, and the foothill light is consistently kind. Overcast skies make skin tones glow and keep the cows calm past the fence, so this is the best window for family and individual sessions with a toddler in the frame.

June – August

Summer, golden hour

Long golden-hour light, sunsets past eight.

Summer gives us the longest golden-hour window of the year — Mountain Time puts sunset past 9 pm, and we can shoot comfortably in the first hour after. The grass is dry and the herd is standing in the open pasture, so couple, engagement, and family sessions in the long-shadow hour get the most out of each frame.

September – November

Fall on the foothills

Short golden hour, foliage, warm rust grass.

Fall light hits low and fast — we plan around a tighter golden-hour window because the sun drops behind the foothills earlier than you expect. The pasture goes rust-gold, the foliage is warm, and the cows are calm in cooler weather, which makes family, individual, and couple shoots sit naturally in the frame.

How payment works

Reserve today. Settle what’s left, later.

Your $75 reservation depositis due to reserve your date and is credited in full toward the package you choose — the family, couple, engagement, maternity, senior, or individual total you just read. The remainder is due on the session day or by invoice.

Standard sessions use the package pricing above. Custom sessions, including off-farm locations or special requests, may require a separate quote — email us and we’ll be in touch.

The policy in plain English

$75 is due to reserve your date and is credited in full toward the session total. The remainder is due on the session day or by invoice. Deposits are non-refundable when a client voluntarily cancels. If Moolady Photography must cancel because of unsafe weather, cattle welfare, property conditions, or another issue on our end, the client may transfer the deposit to another available date or request a refund.

Up to three client reschedules within the same season are preserved on the studio side — we’ll find the next good window together when the day has to move.
